ESG Certification 2025

The Challenge​

Our Esports Future Initiative (EFI), a global leader in organizing high-profile esports events, wanted to create a one-of-a-kind summit that focused on the future of esports while being mindful of its environmental footprint. So, we partnered with Regenify to design and implement a sustainability strategy for the inaugural Esports Future Summit in Abu Dhabi.

The Goal

The goal was clear: make this event a benchmark for how esports events can drive positive change and lead the charge toward a more sustainable future. From waste reduction to carbon footprint management, every detail had to align with global ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) best practices.

The Approach

Regenify specializes in creating impactful and easy-to-implement sustainability solutions. For the Esports Future Summit, Regenify worked closely with the EFI team to ensure that every aspect of the event was aligned with their sustainability goals.

Here’s how we did it:

1. ​Developing the Sustainability Strategy

We started by developing a comprehensive sustainability strategy that not only met but exceeded global ESG standards. This roadmap served as a foundation for the event, ensuring that all operations, from venue selection to post-event reporting, were aligned with sustainability principles.

2. Carbon Footprint Assessment

A critical part of the planning was conducting a carbon footprint assessment. This allowed us to identify key areas where emissions could be reduced, such as transportation, energy usage, and material sourcing.

3. Eco-Friendly Event Design

We worked with the event organizers to ensure that the summit was environmentally friendly. From using recyclable materials for signage to sourcing locally-produced food and beverages, every element was carefully considered to reduce the event’s environmental impact.

4. Digital Programs

Eliminated paper by offering digital agendas, maps, and schedules via event apps or QR codes. Avoided printing unless necessary.

5. Measuring Success & Reporting

After the event, we provided a detailed sustainability impact report that showcased the steps taken to reduce the environmental footprint, the success of those efforts, and recommendations for future improvements.

6. The Impact

The Sustainable Esports Future Summit has become a model for how esports events can drive sustainability without compromising on the experience or quality. EFI now leads by example, showing the industry that it’s possible to host world-class events that are both socially responsible and environmentally conscious.

EFI Earns Sustainability Recognition

Through the Sustainable Esports Future Summit, EFI’s commitment to sustainability was formally recognized with a sustainability certificate, highlighting the efforts to minimize environmental impact. This certification reflects the event’s success in implementing eco-friendly practices, reducing its carbon footprint and setting a new benchmark for sustainable esports events.
